Clean & Modern DIY Entryway Makeover! - Loft Vibes

Loft Vibes is the series where we makeover our office space into the studio space of our dreams! Season 4 has begun, and we made the move from our old loft office to a huge industrial garage studio, but it needs A LOT of work to make it come to life as the vibey studio space we’re dreaming of. To watch the previous episodes, check out our playlist here. This week is all about our front entryway! If you missed the last makeovers, you can catch the storage room makeover here, our colourful lounge boardroom makeover here, our office desk space makeover here, and our modern kitchen makeover here!

This entryway might be the smallest makeover that we do in the entire office, but we want to add a really cool DIY accent wall that’s going to warm up the space, and make it functional yet aesthetic.

THE PLAN

Entryway Plan.jpg

We tried a few different layout options, but settled with a design that features a DIY tambour accent wall and a storage closet for our cleaning supplies! Let’s get started.

For the tambour accent wall DIY, we actually have a whole blog post dedicated to this that you can check out here! It was a super cool look to achieve with just a little bit of elbow grease, and we absolutely love how it turned out. We anchored that DIY with an IKEA PAX wardrobe system that we totally customized with new knobs.

Beside the closet, we installed a clothing rail on one side between the wall and the closet for any heavy coats that people might need to hang. We also made two benches out of the same kind of wood as the tambour; one for right below the clothing rack, and one for the other side of the closet. Above the second bench we put up some natural wood hooks for additional coats.

In the corner by the front door, we made a curved wooden shelf to hold some keys and hand sanitizer. Right above that we put up a mid century modern globe wall sconce that adds so much light to this space and gives it a really modern feel.

Finally to complete this space we added bike hooks for the bikers in our office, a new runner, and brought in a velvet green bench we used in our old office. Take a look at our stunning new entryway!

This makeover seemed like a small task at first but made a HUGE difference in bringing our office together and is so functional for when our Canadian winter hits.
