Loft Vibes is the series where we makeover our office space into the studio space of our dreams! Season 4 has begun, and we made the move from our old loft office to a huge industrial garage studio, but it needs A LOT of work to make it come to life as the vibey studio space we’re dreaming of. After completing the storage room makeover, we also finished our lounge boardroom space, both of which we’re so obsessed with! This week is all about our office/desk space where our office works on the daily. We want this room to feel productive, professional, yet still have the sorry girls feel we bring to all of our makeovers! Check out how this space looked before:

BEFORE

The first thing we needed to do is make our giant blank white wall feel less… well, giant and blank. We came up with something we’ve never tried before and frankly never even seen before, which is a ripped wallpaper feature wall - that’s right we said ripped! To do this, we pre-ripped the wallpaper, installed it on the wall as per instructions, waited about an hour and then did a second rip right below the first. We used black tea to tea stain the rip to give it a deteriorating look - we want it to look like a vintage Paris loft. We love how it turned out, and moved on to the next big thing: our gallery wall.

For the gallery wall we used all thrifted frames to frame fan art from some lovely artists (check them out, linked below) and put up our awards alongside them. Our giant TV was the focus of this gallery wall, since this does need to be a functioning office.

On the other two walls, we installed a clear board using plexiglass, and put up some DIY curtains to cover the bright windows above our credenza. To top off the entire makeover, we had a custom table top made for our desk, which we held up with IKEA filing cabinets and custom-made legs. On top of the desk we have some beautiful handmade walnut desk accessories, kindly gifted by our friends at Grovemade! We also put up two hanging pendant lights over the desk, and added finishing touches like some table lamps and plants. Here is our completed office makeover!

AFTER
