Can AI Help in the Interior Design Process? (Our Top 3 AI Design Apps)
I tried out a bunch of AI interior design apps so you don’t have to. Below is a handy rundown to help you figure out which platform might work best for you out of my top three.

PROS
Good for any image generation not just interior design
High quality renders
Can imagine elements for your space that you can then use as inspiration for sourcing
Blend mode allows you to blend your room photo with an inspo photo for some interesting results
CONS
Must access through Discord (which isn’t for everyone)
You need to know the prompt to give AI as it will not give you guidance to get the result you’re looking for
Lots of trial and error
Only really helpful in Blend mode unless you’re just looking ideas and not renders of your space

Specific room customization not successful
Not super reliable (overloaded server meant I couldn’t do renders)

Does not give options to keep furniture/ room elements

Specific room customization not successful
Did not find floor plan effective for me after uploading a sketch of a floorplan
Will not stray from your current room set up (furniture, light placement etc)
Does not give options to keep furniture/ room elements
AI interior design still has a long way to go and ultimately I think this is a fun to reimagine your space or give some inspiration if you’re really stuck but other than using midjourney for certain elements, I’m not sure if it is useful at this stage to assist a professional or even amateur with interior design.
