DECONSTRUCTED TECH WALL ART!
Soo.. we’re excited to announce that we are currently working on a new Style Selected episode! While this episode might not be out for a couple of weeks, we decided to share with you a little haul and DIY that probably wouldn’t have made it into the Style Selected episode! We still think it’s really cool and worth sharing!
Today we are making this cool deconstructed tech wall art! We got the inspo for this project from an artist names Tom Mclellen who does these cool technology flat lay pieces of art . We decided to try and create something similar!
Let’s get started!
Old technology (keyboards, speakers, wires, ect)
Glue (hot glue, super glue)
MDF or any flat piece of wood.
Tech murdering tools (hacksaw, pliers, wire cutters, scissors, screwdriver, ect)
We started by picking up some old technology at our local thrift store. The thrift store always has TONS of old tech to choose from, and this project is a dope way to keep all of this tech out of the landfill and make it into something awesome.
Once you have your tech, it’s time to take it apart! For the keyboard, we simply pulled off the keys from the base. With our speakers, carefully opened it up and removed any wires or cool pieces of tech that we thought looked really cool. The next part is all you, go ahead and arrange the pieces in any format you’d like. Again, you can check out Tom Mclellen’s work for some inspo.
Aaaand that’s it! We LOVE how these turned out and we hope you do too! If you make this cool deconstructed art, send us a photo on Instagram using the hashtag #SorryGiirlsSquad!
