Lazy Girl Plant DIYs!

Do you love plants but can’t really keep them alive? The following hacks may be perfect for you!

DIY SELF WATERING POT

This pot is called self watering, because it allows the plant to draw up water whenever it wants, as opposed to you watering on top of it and possibly over watering. This is super easy to do and only takes a few materials to put together.

You will need…

  • A pot of your choice

  • A plastic saucer that fits upside down inside of your pot of choice

  • Plastic tubing

  • Plastic water bottle

  • Exacto knife

  • Marker

  • Plant

  • Soil

So, the idea of this DIY is that we add a reservoir of water at the bottom of the pot with the tube, and the plant sucks up the water whenever it wants!

The first step is to cut two holes in the plastic saucer, one to fit the water bottle and another to fit the plastic tubing. Use an exacto knife to cut out these shapes.

Next, time to trim down the water bottle and the tube to size. The water bottle should stand just under the rim of the pot and the tube should sit just above the pot so that we can add the water after everything is planted! Trim everything down with an exacto knife. The next step is to cut a few holes around the bottom of the water bottle. This will allow the roots to pull up the water!

Once everything is cut, you can sit it in your saucer, place in your pot, and add your plant!

You don’t have to feed your plants every time you water! We feed them every two weeks.

You will need…

The first step is going to be to attach the grow light panel to the bottom of one of the shelves. Position the light in the center of the shelf and screw into place!

Once the panel is in place, you can go ahead and install your shelves on the wall. Make sure your grow light shelf is on top, and your second shelf with your plants is on the bottom. Plug everything in, add your plant, and you are good to go!
